Photos & Mini-Review: CHVRCHES Live @ KL Live 2014
Finally, a Chvrches show in Malaysia!
Here's what made it cool and better than the last time I saw them at Laneway Singapore earlier this year:
1. Their music sounded more amazing at KL Live.
2. Finally I got to see 'You Caught The Light' live for the first time. One of my fave tracks from their debut album.
3. Some guitar actions from the guys! And good lighting plays! But the sound system was kinda not balanced=(
4. They performed new song from Mockingjay OST 'Dead Air' and a remake track from Drive OST 'Get Away'. I love Get Away~
5. They played all songs from The Bones of What You Believe.
Felt short (no surprises like an Arctic Monkeys cover=P) but it was still fun. A good warm-up to other Satellite Shows and the main event: Urbanscapes 2014!
Thank you Define for the passes=)

Mini-review: MTV World Stage Malaysia & Good VIbes Festival 2014
2014's MTV World Stage was okay. Honestly, I only came for Yuna and she was..averagely okay. Not her best show but I still enjoyed her songs from new (amazing!) album. I didn't stay for the headliner, B.o.B but managed to see Thaitanium and a K-Pop group. 3/5 stars.
Finally, Good Vibes' second year in Malaysia. And it got better. Some delay caused by heavy rain earlier but the night provided magical stuffs from Banks, Empire of the Sun & Ellie Goulding. EotS were outstanding in both of their performance and props. While Ellie... this is the second time I saw her and it's totally different. More energetic and insane on stage. As usual, she sounded great live. Good end. 4/5 stars.
Waiting for Urbanscapes 2014!!!

Concert (Short) Reviews: Postiljonen Live @ The Bee, KL & Vertical Horizon Live @ KL Live 2014
POSTILJONEN
I went to the gig with the expectation of getting an Efterklang impression all over again; to fall in love with the beauty sounds of a never-heard-of Scandinavian band. It fell short though. But Postiljonen did good that night. Can't wait for The Bee/Upfront's next gig (Deerhoof). 3/5 stars.
VERTICAL HORIZON
On 3rd of June, I went to see one of old-school radio rock bands, Vertical Horizon. It was awesome! To see them play I'm Still Here and the consecutive threesome hit of Everything You Want, Best I Ever Had & You're a God at the end, was more awesome. The opening act, OAG, was great too. They also played a new song called 'Wannabe', which was fresh and brilliant. Can't wait for it to come out on radio/online. 3.5/5 stars.
2014 feels so dry but I'm still cool with what we got, so far for now. Waiting for big events like MTV World Stage, Urbanscapes, Good Vibes (if they still have it) and a rumored Upfront Arena gig (I heard it's gonna be big!)

Why You Should Watch Captain America: The Winter Soldier
Because...
1. The fight scenes were awesome and breathtaking. Especially the first bare-hand-combat between Captain America and...
2. ... The Winter Soldier is this year's Marvel coolest villain like Loki. Loki didn't make a cameo but...
3. ... Expect a lot of reference to other Avengers like Iron man and Hulk and easter eggs in the dialogue and blink-and-you-miss-it scenes. Which includes...
4. ... Super-cool cameos from next Avengers: The Age of Ultron movie's significant characters! Stay until end credit.
5. Emily Van Camp as Sharon Carter. Who's Sharon Carter? Find it out. She's related to Captain America's old love.
6. The storyline is a bit heavy on political element which brought balance for young and matured audience.
7. The birth of Crossbones. He is like Marvel version of DC Comic's Deathstroke. Damn.
8. This sequel marked a new path for Black Widow, who was played brilliantly by Scarlett Johansson.
9. This movie is superior to Iron-Man 3 & Thor 2 for Marvel Phase II before Avengers 2.
10. Emily Van Camp. oh wait.
Thank you for the tickets, KLIPS Malaysia!

Lucy Rose @ The Bee, KL 2014
I enjoyed her performance at The Bee, Publika, KL last 13th March. The opening act was Malaysian Heymun who warmed up the show. Her first show in KL. And it was good.
Heymun
Later, Lucy Rose & co took over the stage. Talented she is! And frankly they sounded better live than when on radio. I thought it would be a dull mellow set but it turned out to be danceable one. So I am glad i have discovered another good live act. From the same guys who presented Efterklang at Urbanscapes last year (one of the best shows!).
She played that 'Milk!' song and the song where she played drums.. okay, it was Bikes and Red Face. And my favorite that night, 'Shiver'. (watched the heartbreaking music video please)
Thanks, The Bee. Bring us more exciting acts next time=)
Lucy Rose

Closure
I hope that I can see you again
I miss to place your hands in my cold ones
To feel the warm of comfortable within
This lonely heart that needs you as a friend
I hope that I can see your smile again
That kind of stunning spark that's rarely seen
To bring back wonders we created years back then
I hope that I can see that smile again
The whisper had been dying to ensure
That when I'm old and done with the world
"Don't worry things are second to our love.
And I'll be there by you anywhere you go."
Now slowly I've been drifting through your songs
That'd always stay afloat in my lost soul
Recalling wonders we made some years ago
Just makes me want to see you my love
It makes me want to see my only love...

That's What I Learned From...
Addiction in some forms is a disease. It cannot be cured easily. So don't be ashamed to get help or share your problem with ones you trust who can help you. Or at least make you feel better. The question of dignity, cultural acceptance or taboo issues are second to your effort to save your own life. Meanwhile, other people who don't seem to have any addiction on the surface are not perfect or problem-free either. EVERYONE has a black spot of weakness in their life. It's a matter of whether we realize it or not. Is it hidden from our own consciousness? Because if it is, that's dangerous. Thus, learn and care more about yourself - that's what I learned from watching Thanks For Sharing.
There must be a reason why someone live a dirty life. These kind of people are not 100% what you think they completely are and they might have that one little kindness inside them and it may be one quality that you don't have. There is always room for redemption for them and it's our job to switch the light on over the room. On another note, depression makes us lose control. And losing total control is shitty - that's what I learned from watching Filth.
If you are so passionate in doing something you care and love most, you don't have to worry about other things. You'll be purely happy - that's what I learned from watching Frances Ha.
There are people who accept to live by rules, be it their nature or if they are brainwashed to do so. And there are people who embrace creative freedom, which doesn't go well with the presence of strict rules. Acceptance and understanding between both kind of groups is important to create harmonious and healthy atmosphere. The same goes to Master-Builders and average construction workers - that's what I learned from watching The Lego Movie.
SPACESHIP!!!
Cinema is my school.
